About This Content The Class 156 DMU, also known as a Super Sprinter, was built from 1987 to 1989 by Metro-Cammell as part of the effort to replace the ageing fleet of first-generation DMUs dating back to the 1950s. The Class 156s were all built as two-car sets, each set comprising a pair of driving motor units. Powered by 6-cylinder diesel engines, Super Sprinters are rated to run at 75mph and are used mainly for suburban and short-haul branch line duties. All units have now passed from British Rail ownership into private hands, and are currently in operation with a number of train operators including Scotrail, Northern Rail, East Midlands Trains, and National Express East Anglia.**Please note that the Class 156 cannot be controlled using the in-game HUD driver interface or Xbox controller.Updated FeaturesProjecting exterior headlights for low light visibilityCab night lighting (activated using Shift + L) QuickDrive CompatibleKey Features:Advance Warning System (AWS) self-test routine. It comes in several liveries (Regional Railways, BR Express, ONE railways, Central Trains, Northern Rail (early) and ScotRail (from 2000). Tha\\nks to our friends at DPSimulation, there are many easy-to-install reskins including Northern Spirit, First Scotrail and Northern Rail (current), just to name a few! It has a really nice passenger interior, although I am convinced that it is the Arriva Trains Northern interior. There are, however, some inperfections, for example, the DLC has not been updated to TSX mode, so you will not be able to enjoy the rain particles on the windscreen of other trains. If you can get these past you, then go and click the add to cart button and you will not be dissapointed.NOTE: The DLC release date is set to 6 April 2016 because it was withdrawn to be updated.. DO NOT buy this unless you want a broken train that can only really be used as AI. For those that don't know, this item was deemed so bad by DTG themselves, they REMOVED IT FROM SALE. This is why the release date above now shows April 2016, dont be fooled, this is NOT new!!The train itself dates back to the early days of Railworks and so doesn't even have basic upgrades like rain on the windscreen. It's also not compatible with any kind of controller and if you try to use the keyboard, you have to get into the habit of stabbing at the brakes otherwise a nanosecond press too long and you're in emergency braking! For DTG to reissue this at full price knowing its faulty is dishonest. Unless it's \u00a33 in a sale and you really want one of these for AI in scenarios, run away!!!!. Beautifully rendered, nice sounds (for someone who has never ridden one of these). Unfortunately broken controller support - attempt to brake ends in emergency braking. The reverser is fickle, both using keyboard and controller. Some crazy framerate issues: framerate fluctuating wildly between 20 and 70 fps. Definitely more crashes than with other locos. However, if you adjust your driving technique and learn to ignore bugs, you can still enjoy the ride.. well after a friend said they are having problems with this unit and reading the comments on here i had to test this out i've owned this dlc for over a year now re installed around 8 months ago due to new system recieved all current updates from steam took this out for a ride on the edinburgh to glasgow route on a quick drive and used one of the default liverys i used high settings with and without the dymanic setting and gladly haven't found a problem with it i do believe it is a bit tempermental in scenarios but that usaully if you've not got all the necesary dlc and using a livery added from a third party like uk train sim for example, this game really does need a high end processor over 3ghz intel or 4ghz amd and graphics card i recommend one of the more expensive Nvidia graphics cards i am talking like over the \u00a3100 mark, also i meant to say that you need to make up this two carriage unit you need to make sure you use DMS then DMSL of the same livery then flip around so that the cabs at the back go to quick drive click on train then custom click confim and wait for all the stock to load up to do this hope this helps.. I Purchase Class 156 some time back I purchase liverpool to Manchester route last week when I go to it will not let meplay some of the I have already got. Please can you me.Alan harris. This does not work and will crach when you open the doors. This needs to be removed and fixed before it continues to be sold!!!!. Not recommended thanks to being badly connected to the HUD, it suffers unique crashes and isn't brilliantly optimized for my computer which just shows a blur on all the textures with this train.. It`s a great add-on for train simulator I got on this train from glasgow to barrhead route I now love it now `it`s here:)
